Here we show you how to broadcast and stream your gaming using Nvidia Share (or Shadowplay). First up (assuming you’ve downloaded and installed GeForce Experience), you’ll need to enable the Nvidia in-game overlay. This will let you instantly do things like record, instant replay and broadcast using keyboard shortcuts. In GeForce Experience, click the Settings cog in the top-right corner, then scroll down and click the slider next to “In-Game Overlay” so that it’s on. By default, the keyboard shortcut for the in-game overlay is Alt + Z, but you can change this by pressing Alt + Z, clicking the Settings cog then “Keyboard shortcuts.”
Basic Recording
Before we move on to the live broadcasting and streaming, a quick word on how to record footage and do instant replays. First, go to the in-game overlay, click the “Settings cog -> Video capture” and set the capture settings to what you want. Once you’ve done that, the default keyboard shortcut to start recording is Alt + F9. You can enable Instant Replay from the in-game overlay, then use Alt + F10 to record an instant replay. You can change the length of instant replays from the “Video capture” menu, but note that you’ll need to have Instant Replay disabled in order to change these settings.
Streaming/Broadcasting
Now you know how to record video using Nvidia Shadowplay, but what about live broadcasting? First, you’ll want to set your broadcasting settings for whichever streaming service you use. Go to “in-game overlay -> Settings cog -> Broadcast LIVE.” Here you can choose streaming to Facebook, Twitch or YouTube, each with their individual settings. Crucially, for Twitch you’ll need to pick an ingest server as local to you as possible. This is also the place to add a custom overlay to your stream. Next, open the game you want to broadcast live, then when you’re ready, press Alt + F8. This will open the broadcasting overlay, where you can select the site you want to broadcast to (with the settings you set up earlier). At this point, click “Log in” to sign in to your account for the relevant platform. Once you’ve done that, your broadcasting account should appear in the “Post as” box. Add a title to your video, set whether you want to broadcast privately or publicly, then click “Go LIVE.” If you’re trying to broadcast to YouTube, you’ll first need to set up YouTube for live streaming through YouTube Studio for your account. (Click “Create” at the top right -> Go live, then follow the instructions.) Back in Nvidia Share, pause your recording using Alt + F7, or when you’re finished, stop it using Alt + F8. Nvidia Share doesn’t handle the management or editing of your broadcast after you’ve uploaded it.
